Hundreds Of Parishioners Turn Out To Help Habitat For Humanity Build New Home

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Hundreds of volunteers from seven south suburban parishes put in a little hard labor Saturday to help out Habitat for Humanity.

One nail at a time, the volunteers put together wooden frames that will eventually be part of a Habitat duplex in DuPage County.

They also signed messages and prayers for the recipient family.

Cardinal Blase Cupich also got in on the build.

In all, volunteers raised more than $16,000 for the housing project.
