Man Shot While Lying In His Bed In Bronzeville

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 40-year-old man was shot while lying in his bed in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

According to Chicago police, the victim was in his home in the in the 5000 block of south Washington Park Court early Monday morning when he sustained a gunshot wound to the left shoulder.

He was transported to University of Chicago Hospital and his condition was stabilized.

Police said it is unknown if shots came from the window or the back of the house.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
