CHICAGO (CBS) — Columbus Drive was closed as hundreds of young athletes played basketball to promote peace Saturday.

More than 400 youth athletes went to Grant Park for the 13th annual “Hoops in the Hood.”

Kids from more than 24 neighborhoods joined community groups for the tournament championship.

Organizers say the basketball tournament helps bring people together.

Since it began 13 years ago, 26,000 Chicago young people have participated in the tournament.
