15-Year-Old Boy Killed in Austin Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 15-year-old boy is dead after shots were fired in the 5100 block of West Washington Boulevard.

According to Chicago police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the area at approximately 2:19 a.m. where they found the boy unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his leg and back. Police said the 15-year-old -- identified as Dovantae Jackson -- was pronounced dead on scene.

There were no witnesses to the incident, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating.
