Chicago Cubs Closer Craig Kimbrel Placed On Injured List With Right Elbow Inflammation

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel was placed on the 10-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.

Cubs boss Theo Epstein said Thursday that the pitcher's MRI  showed no damage, and he's eligible to return to the lineup late next week.

Kimbrel is 0-2 with a 5.68 ERA, 13 saves and 26 strikeouts in 19 innings of work.

Chicago recalled infielder David Bote from Triple-A Iowa.
