CHICAGO (CBS)– A 45-year-old man was fatally struck in a -hit-and-run in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood early Sunday morning.

According to Chicago police, the victim was crossing Cicero Avenue near McLean Avenue when a maroon colored Nissan traveling southbound struck him.

The driver of the Nissan fled the scene, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. His name had not been released late Sunday.

No one is in custody and the incident is under investigation.
