Construction Worker Dies In Accident At BP Plant In Whiting Indiana
WHITING, Ind. (CBS)-- A worker died in an accident at the BP Whiting Refinery in Indiana Wednesday.
According to the Whiting Fire Department, the construction worker fell at the BP plant.
BP confirmed the worker was pronounced dead and said "BP's local medical staff provided immediate assistance."
He was identified as Gilberto Rangel Jr., 23, of Griffith, Indiana.
"BP will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and remains committed to safe, reliable and compliant operations," a BP spokesperson said in a written statement.
