CHICAGO (CBS)-- A car crashed into a church in north suburban Crystal Lake early Thursday, and the driver later was arrested for DUI.
CBS 2's non-stop news crew caught the scene at Living Waters Lutheran Church at 1808 Miller Road.
Police said a 2007 Lexus crashed into the brick wall of the church around 12:15 a.m., causing significant damage to both the car and the church.
No one was inside the church at the time.
Police said the driver walked away after the crash. About 30 minutes later, officers spotted the driver walking about a mile away near Autumncrest and Magnolia drives. He was not injured.
The driver, 41-year-old Daniel Lang, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence, and one count of failure to give information after striking unattended vehicle/property. Lang also was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, and disobeying a stop sign. He was released after posting bail.
