CALUMET PARK, Ill. (CBS) — A semi truck and car were involved in an accident Saturday evening, leaving one woman injured.

Witnesses on scene said a woman had to be pulled out of her car after it rolled on its side at Carpenter Street and Obama Drive in Calumet Park around 5 p.m.

Her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, but she was treated by paramedics on scene and taken to a nearby hospital.

Nearby residents were startled by the sound of the impact.

“I was in the house and I just heard a boom,” Amariea Adams said. “I was thinking somebody in the house did something or somebody hit the house but it wasn’t even that, it was just an accident. But I’m glad she’s OK.”

It is unclear what caused the accident.
