CHICAGO (CBS) — A gathering Saturday honored slain mother Marlen Ochoa on what would’ve been her 20th birthday.

Twenty red balloons were released into the air in Pilsen, each one representing a year of Ochoa’s life.

The pregnant mother was murdered back in April.

Ochoa was nine months pregnant at the time, and her baby cut from her womb. The infant later died.

Three people have been charged in the death of Ochoa and her baby, including Clarisa Figueroa and her daughter Desiree.
