2019 Set Record For Media Production Project In Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS)-- You see the signs and the trailers all over the city announcing the movie or TV show filming right here in Chicago.

In fact, 2019 was a record year for media production in Chicago.

Tuesday morning, the Chicago Independent Producers' Lab and the Independent Film Initiative said they will help grow the local film-maker community.

Officials said 522 projects were shot in Chicago last year and 15,000 "non-extra" jobs were created.

This had an economic impact of nearly $560 million.
