CHICAGO (CBS)– Police are investigating the suspicious deaths of two people at a home in Oak Park.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Leslie Ann Jones, 67, and her husband Thomas E. Johnson, 70. Police discovered their bodies during a welfare check in the home at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday in 500 block of Fair Oaks Avenue. In a video posted on You Tube, Oak Park Police chief LaDon Reynolds said the victims were married. “I want to offer our condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Jones and her husband, Mr. Johnson, both of whom are known in the community and beyond,” Reynolds said. He said there is no reason to suspect that the community at large is in danger, but police will be increasing patrols in the area.
“Preliminary information gathered at the scene indicates suspicious circumstances,” Oak Park Communications Director David M. The crime scene continues to be active, Reynolds said.
