CHICAGO (CBS)– Two men are in custody after four car break-ins in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood.

Police said officers responded to a report of a person breaking into parked cars near Scott Street and Lake Shore Drive shortly after midnight.

A man was seen breaking the window of a car and stealing items from inside, and then getting into a waiting black SUV and fleeing the scene.

Officers stopped the SUV after seeing it driving the wrong way on Inner Lake Shore Drive, and arrested both men inside.

A total of four cars were broken into on the same block, but police said they don’t know if items were stolen from all four, because not all of the owners have been located.

Charges are pending.
