Man Dies After Falling On 3rd Rail At CTA Grand Red Line Station
CHICAGO (CBS)-- A man died at the CTA Grand Avenue Red Line station after he tripped onto the tracks.
Police said the man was sitting on the platform when he got onto the tracks and then tripped, hitting the electrified third rail. The incident happened at 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Paramedics rushed the man to Northwestern Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Northbound Red Line trains are rerouted above ground from Cermak to Fullerton
Police are investigating.
