CHICAGO (CBS)– A person was fatally struck by a Metra train Wednesday morning.

According to Metra officials, the pedestrian was struck by inbound Rock Island train MX04 at Hamilton Road just before 9:30 a.m.

Metra officials said the incident took place about a mile from the Mokena station. Passengers were taken off the train and driven to the station.

The victim has not been identified.

Officials said tracks are expected to open shortly.
