Woman Survives 2-Story Fall After Stairs Collapse Near Bronzeville

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A woman survived after falling two stories after a staircase collapsed right under her feet near the Bronzeville neighborhood.

The stairs collapsed at a house on Drexel Avenue.

According to witnesses, she was two floors up when the stairs gave way and she fell. The woman landed on a concrete slab on the ground floor.

The fall happened while the woman was celebrating her birthday. She was rushed to the hospital and is expected to recover.
