Chicago Weather: Severe Storms Possible, Including Threat Of Tornadoes, Damaging Wind And Hail
CHICAGO (CBS) -- After powerful storms moved through the Chicago area Sunday morning, much of the area is still at a slight risk for severe storms in the afternoon. There is also a risk of tornadoes, but the main storm threats are wind and large hail.
There is a 5% tornado risk in some areas, including a portion of the City of Chicago. North suburban areas near the Wisconsin line could see strong storms by mid afternoon, with the threat moving south as sunset approaches and into the early evening hours.
