CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police are investigating after a body was recovered from Lake Michigan Sunday morning.

Police say the marine unit recovered the body at about 8:45 a.m. at the 39th Street Beach.

Authorities late Sunday trying to figure out if it is the body of a woman reported missing in that area last week.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office has not released an identification.
