CHICAGO (CBS) — This Saturday will at 6 p.m. will be the final mass at St. Maurice Catholic Church in the Southwest Side’s McKinley Park neighborhood.

Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, only 60 people are allowed to attend – and it is already sold out.

A decision to close the church at 3615 S. Hoyne Ave. was made back in August.

The reason is the church’s large debt, repairs that are needed, and diminishing attendance.
