CHICAGO (CBS)– A water main break is causing flooding in Bucktown near the Kennedy Expressway.
According to the Water Management Department, an 8 inch water main broke at 1840 N. Marshfield Avenue. Officials said the water flooded a viaduct at 1900 N. Elston Avenue.READ MORE: Chicago Weather: Cooler Day Ahead
Crews brought in a vacuum truck to help get the water out of the flooded viaduct, and will start digging to perform repairs once the water has been cleared.READ MORE: Chicago Weather: Coolest Day Of The Week On Wednesday
Drivers should avoid the area. The cause of the water main break is unknown at this time.
