CHICAGO (CBS) — Someone was shot Monday afternoon on the northbound Dan Ryan Expressway near 43rd Street.

Illinois State Police were called to the scene in the express lanes north of 43rd Street at 3:03 p.m. The shooting victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries, state police said.

The rear windshield was busted out of a white car into which the shots were apparently fired.

Following the shooting, all northbound traffic was being diverted to the local lanes at 67th Street/Marquette Road.
