CHICAGO (CBS) — The Bears and Allen Robinson are playing an expensive game of tag.
With contract negotiations going nowhere for more than a year, the Bears are now placing the franchise tag on their best offensive player.
That means if Robinson signs the tag, he will make $18 million next season – although some reports have speculated he might hold out for a trade without a long-term deal.
Robinson’s been the Bears leading receiver the last 3 seasons. He caught a career high 102 passes in 2020.
