ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (CBS) — A serious accident snagged traffic on Interstate 55 in Will County during the afternoon rush.

Illinois State Police said they were called at 4:20 p.m. to I-55 at Joliet Road. The vehicles were traveling in the left lanes when traffic began to slow down, and one rear-ended the other, state police said.READ MORE: Aurora Pop-Up Pantry Opens On Monday

Around 4:39 p.m., the left and center lanes on the southbound side of I-55 were shut down. The shutdown lasted about 21 minutes.
