CHICAGO (CBS) — “A year of loss and pain” — that’s how Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot summed up life during the pandemic in her state of the city address Friday afternoon.

Lightfoot paid tribute to the 5,000 Chicagoans who died and focused on moving forward, saying the city’s recovery is a chance to right the wrongs of the past.

The mayor also vowed to speed the recovery for small businesses by committing to reducing red tape.
