Flags To Fly At Half Staff In Honor Of Champaign Police Officer Chris Oberheim
CHICAGO (CBS)-- U.S. and state flags will fly at half staff at government facilities across Illinois, in honor of a Champaign police officer killed in the line of duty.
The flag honors will last until sunset this evening for 44-year-old Officer Chris Oberheim. He was fatally shot while responding to a domestic disturbance last Wednesday morning.
Oberheim had been with the Champaign Police Department since 2008. He began his career with the Decatur Police Department.
