CHICAGO (CBS) — A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed Thursday afternoon in the Lawndale neighborhood.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office, the boy was identified as Tyrese Taylor. The Legal Help Firm reported Tyrese had just finished eighth grade at Daniel Webster Elementary School, 4055 W. Arthington St., and was headed to high school.
