CHICAGO (CBS)-- Intense summer heat continues.

Off and on showers are expected Wednesday morning with high temperatures near 80 degrees throughout the day.

Shower and thunderstorm chances increase Thursday into Friday.

Thunderstorms are expected this weekend.
