Owner Charged After Dog Is Found In Hot Car Outside Fox Valley Mall In Aurora

AURORA, Ill. (CBS) -- Aurora police on Monday emphasized that it is much too hot to be leaving dogs locked in cars – and said a dog owner is being held accountable for doing so.

Officers found a female dog locked inside a car while the owners went into the Fox Valley Mall.

Police located the owner, who came back outside.

Just as quickly, the owner was charged with animal cruelty, police said.
