Boat Flies Off Fox River And Catches Fire In Backyard, Leaving Operator Dead
HOLIDAY HILLS, Ill. (CBS) -- A boat went flying off the Fox River in the far northwest suburbs and caught fire Wednesday, leaving its operator dead.
Witnesses said a man was driving his boat on the Fox River in Holiday Hills when the boat suddenly crashed through the trees and into someone's backyard in the 2400 block of South Riverview Drive.
The boat caught fire, and the man died on the scene.
Investigators late Wednesday were still trying to figure out just what kicked off the chain of events.
