COVID-19 In Illinois: 10 Deaths, 51 Hospitalizations In Breakthrough Cases In Past Week
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Here's another reason to wear a mask and wash your hands frequently, even if you're vaccinated.
In the past week, Illinois had 10 deaths and 51 hospitalizations from breakthrough COVID cases, when fully vaccinated people get infected with the virus.
Since January, the state has seen 169 deaths and 644 hospitalizations from breakthrough cases. That's approximately 2% of all deaths this year.
