Officer Injured While Responding To Shooting In East Chatham

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Chicago police officer responding to a shooting in the city's East Chatham neighborhood was injured Sunday.

When he arrived just after 8 p.m. the officer found two men in a gun battle in the 7900 block of South Drexel.

One of the bullets hit the squad car. Broken glass hit the officer in the face.

Police say one of the gunmen was also wounded in the shooting. He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was listed in good condition.
