Current owner Peter Fasano sells the Fasano apple pies through grocery stores, delis, restaurants and cafes. There is even a colorful Fasano delivery truck which visits the western suburbs and sometimes the Loop. The Warm Rustic Apple Pie at Grand Lux Café is a to die for pie. It is on the baked to order dessert menu and takes approximately 30 minutes to make, so it is recommended to order it when the entrée is ordered. The crust is a flaky, sugary delight which alone is amazing, but added in are fresh apples and it is topped with caramel and vanilla ice cream. This may even be one of those times when eating dessert first is appropriate and well worth the wait.
