Dat Donuts

Directory information and reviews

While it’s hard to say any one donut here is the best, I’d have to vote for the old fashioned. This greasy, cakey indulgence is almost as big as your head. The smell alone will make it hard to only order one. The sheer size however, will quickly deter you from ordering multiple. When I say this is a big donut, I mean its entirety fits in a styrofoam takeout container.

Old Fashioned Donuts

Chicago, IL 60628
(773) 995-7420
Directory information and reviews

Old Fashioned Donuts are melt in your mouth delicious. This Chicago staple has become an institution for donut lovers on all sides of the city. The light, sugary texture is well worth a visit. You can literally taste the butter and glazes melting as you eat them. If you’re lucky enough to get them warm out of the oven, order more than you intended–you won’t regret it (at least not until you get to the gym).

Over the years, Dinkel’s has proved their quality and service is unmatched in the Lakeview neighborhood. Favorites at Dinkel’s include long johns, bismarks, red velvet and a bacon & maple donut served on Saturdays. That’s right, I said bacon donut! Favorites go quick in the mornings so be sure to get in early. If you’re looking for something more savory, I highly recommend a Dinkel’s Burglaur; eggs, bacon and spinach all baked in a warm bread.
