Run by a registered Certification Level I Music Together teacher, Marsha Melsheimer, Marsha’s Music has been serving the Chicago community for 11 years. There are programs that cater to newborn babies all the way to adult classes. Whether it’s a simple Mommy & Me class or a Family Jam experience, this is a great way to incorporate music into your young child’s life in a fun activity for family bonding. There are five different locations to choose from, all in the Chicago area. The spring 2013 semester classes offer a number of different programs to choose from. The Music Together tuition is $215 and is for babies 0-8 months, with parent.

My Gym caters to children 6 weeks to 13 years of age. The facility and instructors help to develop children physically, cognitively and emotionally through music, dance, gymnastics, sports and much more. Classes are on a four-week billing cycle, starting at $60, or a one-time lifetime family membership at $75. The Waddlers class is for children 14 to 22 months and is a great Mommy & Me class for those looking to do a little more with their child in terms of stimulation. The state-of-the-art facility features items that will help promote balance and agility while allowing them to socialize with kids their own age.

The Little Gym offers more than just stimulation through music. It offers a three-dimensional learning system that helps with physical strength, introduction to colors, introduction to numbers, introduction to letters and concepts involving taking turns and sharing. There are four Mommy & Me-type classes to choose from: Bugs for infants 4-10 months, Birds for 10-19 months, Beasts for 19-30 months and Super Beasts for toddlers 2.5 years to 3 years of age. The Summer Session starts June 17, 2013. There are a number of classes to choose from with varying days and times available. An entire 20-week session is $440.

This is a parent-and-child class hosted by the Chicago Park District. It is for children at least 3 years old and under 6 years and 1 month old. The program runs from June 16 to August 18 for a weekly class on Sundays from 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Parents and children will participate in arts and crafts activities that will include numbers and colors. Children will be able to play games and socialize in an environment that helps promote bonding with the parent in a stimulating activity. Residents of Chicago have a discounted tuition of $18, while non-residents have tuition of $36.

Hosted by the Niles Park District, the Oasis Fun Center is much more than just a swim park. While many families visit this aquatic park for its open swim, water slides and kid-friendly features, there are some swim classes for every age group. The Parent & Tot Swim class is geared for those 6-36 months. It teaches familiarity to the water, beginning swim skills and water games and songs to bond with your child. There are four sessions to choose from starting June 10, June 24, July 8 and July 22. Classes will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday through Thursday. The price is $35 for residents and $44 for non-residents.
