Best Fall Family Activities In Naperville

Naperville has a great reputation of being a wonderful place to raise children and it was even voted the second best place to live in the United States in 2006 by Money magazine. There is an abundance of family-friendly activities both indoor and outdoor. This fall is a great time to pick up the family and head to Naperville to take advantage of all the entertainment sites, educational activities and relaxation spots.

The DuPage Children's Museum has three floors packed with amazing stations of exploration, math and science. Participate in endless hands-on activities that will keep the kids entertained all day long. The museum also features preschool camps, summer camps and engineering fundamentals with lego camps. It offers classes for many different age groups and there are birthday party packages available to host your next party.

Naper Settlement is an outdoor history museum geared toward families and people of all ages. The 12 acres that make up the Settlement feature a variety of different exhibits. Enjoy interactive activities for children and adults with learning tours that reveal interesting historical facts. The Settlement offers special kids programs with historical themes like the Victorian Tea Party which is great for mother/daughter outings or a group date of fun for girls. Make sure to join them for Oktoberfest where they will host live music, authentic food and a great time for the whole family.

Kidz Kabaret is a non-audition children's theater company. All children and teens are guaranteed a moment on stage to display their performance abilities. Acting and performance camps are available for enrollment. Kidz Kabaret also offers a variety of different shows for family-fun enjoyment during the fall season. "Legally Blonde," "The Little Mermaid," "Bathroom Humor" and "Rabbit Hole" are just a few of the shows that have been featured. There are new shows added regularly with admission costs listed on the website.

The Naperville Park District has a large number of events for the entire family. The Parent/Child Bingo & Pizza event is a great way to make use of this year's Halloween costume. Children and parents are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costumes and play 12 games of Bingo for prizes suitable for all ages. No one goes home empty handed. Kids receive a goodie bag of treats and food is served to all. This is one event of many that the Naperville Park District has to offer. Check out its website and see what else is coming up.

Naperville Riverwalk provides a picturesque experience with bridges, fountains, landscaping and beautiful lighting. Stroll along this 1.75-mile walk and enjoy the scenery. The Riverwalk Eatery serves walkers with a wonderful menu of snacks. There are events featured at the Riverwalk all year long. Fall will bring craft fairs, walk-a-thons, festivals and there will be a Santa House during the holidays.
