Big Ten to announce divisions tonight

big ten 9 1 Big Ten to announce divisions tonight

The wait is over.

The Big Ten will officially announce its two divisions tonight at 6 p.m., the conference announced Wednesday. Schedules for the 2011 and 2012 season will also be released as Nebraska joins the conference next season.

Multiple reports indicate that Michigan and Ohio State will be split up into separate divisions.

A source told that there will not be divisions for men’s basketball, contrary to an report earlier Wednesday that said the Big Ten could revert back to a 16-game basketball schedule in which teams would play division opponents twice.

It make sense to have an East and West Division. East Schools
Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, and Indiana. West Division Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Northwestern. 9 Conference games, play against
every team in your division and 4 teams in the other. Best 2 teams in each Division meet in the playoffs.
