CHICAGO (CBS) Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis says he has placed an officer on desk duty while authorities investigate allegations about the possible beating of a suspect while in custody.

Weis said he found the allegations being investigated by the Independent Police Review Authority were disturbing, and involved an officer in a supervisory capacity. He said the incident reported to the IPRA allegedly occurred earlier this week.

“This conduct, if true, is inexcusable,” Weis, addressing the allegations, said at a Friday night news conference.

Weis left the news conference at police headquarters without providing any more specifics, but police spokesman Roderick Drew later said the officer involved was a sergeant.

Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti of the Chicago Police News Affairs Office said late Friday that the department would be providing no more comment for the time being, and referred any questions to the IPRA.

no he’s not that’s not important what district he’s in the allegations r ubsurd and hold no merit he is an outstanding cop and always has been risking his life everyday to protect city street and this is how the city repays him for his duty that’s ubsurd as well

o he has cloat and i have no doubt that he will walk but the red tape is stressful on him and officers have enough stress on them from the job as a whole and god is with him NO DOUBT!!!!!!!!!!! HE WILL BE FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
