CHICAGO (WBBM) - The Oak Brook police chief is looking to fire the son of accused murderer Drew Peterson.

LISTEN: Newsradio 780′s Regine Schlesinger Reports

Stephen Peterson took possession of some of his father’s guns while Drew Peterson was being investigated in the disappearance of his wife, Stacy.

The son is an Oak Brook police officer.

Stephen Peterson admitted he took the guns just before his father’s home was searched.

Now, Oak Brook Chief Thomas Sheahan wants him out.

The Oak Brook police and fire board is being asked to suspend Stephen Peterson without pay, pending a disciplinary hearing, during which the chief will ask that he be fired.

Newsradio 780′s Regine Schlesinger reports, it’s the third time the Oak Brook police chief as brought up allegations against Stephen Peterson.

Peterson’s lawyer, Tamara Cummings, says all of the allegations are false and vindictive against her client because of his father’s notoriety.

“Not only does he have to worry about defending against these charges, he has to worry about supporting himself, his children and his father’s children,” Cummings said.

Cummings said she expects the board to back Sheahan and will appeal the decision.

Drew Peterson is charged with the murder of 3rd wife, Kathleen Savio, and is a suspect in fourth wife, Stacy’s disappearance.

As a cop he should have know that he was interffering with a murder investigation–what kind of cop dos that–I still think Stacy was dumped into the old Romeo beach quarry since Drew made that smug remark that in order to find her they should be looking at the beach—

Did Drew and/or his son receive notice not to remove guns before the search?

They are smart to get rid of him. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree!

KMS, that’s harsh, I hate that saying, this guy was being a good son and helping his dad, I admit his dad is one conceded dick but his son was just helping. He did do it the wrong way about it but this saying doesn’t apply to him, my dad was in jail my whole life and my mom was never around, and I turned out to be a great I’m teacher and I became opposite of my parents, so please be careful when you use that saying…

Stephen Peterson wouldn’t need to worry about feeding his fathers children if his father had acted like a father should, to both the young children and to Stephen. Plus he wouldn’t need to worry about paying his own bills etc… if he had acted like the police officer he is claiming to be instead of helping his dad with removing the weapons. He has brought this upon himself.
