Miller: Cutler's Improvement Must Come Through Practice

Former Bears quarterback Jim Miller knows that Jay Cutler has the talents to be an elite quarterback in the NFL. Miller also knows that in order to reach his potential Cutler needs to improve on the practice field.

"You try to do things the right way every single time," Miller said on the Danny Mac Show. "If you practice perfect, you're going to play perfect."

The added practice time this week focused on their offensive schemes, instead of preparing for an opponent, should help Cutler tremendously. "He's still not completely settled in the offense," Miller said of Cutler. "At times he makes great plays, like the first touchdown to Johnny Knox. But, you get back to two of the interceptions, probably the most costly, the [one that went for a touchdown]."

As a former quarterback, Miller got right back into critiquing the mechanics of Cutler. "If he practices that way, where he's falling backwards not getting all of his hips and shoulders towards his target, it's going to be behind the receiver and it's going to be a pick [for a touchdown] every time."
