Chicago To Host Gay Travel Convention

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago has been chosen to host the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association's annual convention in 2013.

The city was selected at the organization's board meeting in Florida last week.

The 2013 event will mark the first time Chicago has hosted the convention.

Travel association board chair Tanya Churchmuch says Chicago is a good fit both because of its "vibrant and diverse'' gay community, but also for its air access for members.

The association has members in 83 countries across the travel industry, including accommodations, airlines, tour operators and travel agents.
