Making The Biggest Impact
Julius Pepper was the biggest free agent of the off-season and with the hype came plenty of high expectations. “He’s made his presence felt,” Biggs said. “I think it’s fair to say [Peppers has] helped Israel Idonije with the constant attention that teams are paying to [him], I think Idonije has stepped forward.”
Not only could Briggs return, but safety Major Wright could also make a comeback. The rookie was expected to come in a challenge for a starting position this season; however, the Bears might look to ease him into the safety rotation.
“Exactly what kind of role [the Bears] envision for [Wright] and what he’s going to be doing, I can’t say that yet,” Biggs said. “I would imagine [they’d] get him in on special teams right away and kind of go from there.”
