Authorities say that the Super 8 Motel in St. Charles was home to the two-year-old girl and her family.

Paramedics got a call on Wednesday morning about the girl - that she was unresponsive. Unconscious and not breathing. And that she had bruises on her head, eyes and mouth.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services says it is investigating. A spokesman says DCFS has had no prior contact with the family - and that there are no other children.

Sources tell Newsradio 780 that the mother's boyfriend is wanted for questioning about what is being called an aggravated battery to a child.

As Gov. Pat Quinn and GOP challenger Bill Brady argued inside Channel 11 studios Thursday night, Green Party candidate rich Whitney and supporters picketed outside.
Whitney called his exclusion "a travesty."
"A taxpayer-funded public television stations is favoring two party candidates to the detriment of myself, a representative of the Illinois Green Party, an established political party," he said.  "That is just plain wrong."
Whitney said neither Quinn nor Brady really addressed the state's financial problems.  He said a graduated state income tax, a tax on real estate speculators, and taxes on the trading of options, futures and derivatives are good places to start.
