The AAA Chicago Motor Club reports that gas prices in Illinois and northern Indiana are up again this month from October's already high prices.

It's projecting an average cost of $3.02 a gallon for November. That's 28 cents more than last year.

In Cook County, self-serve regular now costs an average of $3.16 a gallon, up 11 cents from last month and 54 cents higher than last year at this time.

In fact, all of the collar counties are also registering gas above $3 a gallon, with the busy Thanksgiving travel period just ahead of us.

A AAA spokeswoman blames the weakening dollar for the recent run-up in pump prices.
