Man Shot, Killed On West Side

CHICAGO (CBS) - Police are searching for the shooter who killed a man on the city's West Side.

Dimitry Radcliff, 33, was shot multiple times as he stood in the 1000 block of North Springfield Avenue around 8:22 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

Police responded to the call for shots fired and found him unresponsive on the ground, a Harrison District captain said. He was shot four times in the thigh and once in the shoulder.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman said he was pronounced dead at 9:09 p.m.

Radcliff lived in the 1800 block of South Springfield Avenue, a mile from where he was shot, according to the Medical Examiner's office.

The witness who called for help said the gunman was a man wearing all black clothing, the captain said.

Harrison Area detectives are conducting a homicide investigation, but nobody was in custody as of early Thursday.
