Chicago Bears’ DE Julius Peppers has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week. This is the fourth time Peppers has received the award, the first in a Bears uniform.
Julius Peppers’ three sacks and deflecting a pass that was intercepted by Charles Tillman during the Bears’ 16-0 victory over the Miami Dolphins gave Peppers this achievement.
His three sacks were the most the Bears have had by a single player since Adewale Ogunleye had three at Oakland in Week 10 of the 2007 season. This also tied a career high and was the eighth he had a three-sack performance since starting his NFL career in 2002, which is the most any player has had over that span.
