Police Seek Silver Charger In Rogers Park Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) - A man was shot in the leg during a drive-by shooting early Sunday in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side.

About 1:30 a.m. the 20-year-old man was walking south on Clark Street when he was confronted by suspects in a silver Dodge Charger, according to a Rogers Park District police lieutenant.

The man "got a bad feeling,'' and began walking east on Morse when he heard several gunshots and realized he'd been shot in the lower left leg at 1711 W. Morse Ave., according to the lieutenant.

The victim did not call the police right away. He called a friend who took him to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston where he'd been released as of 9:30 a.m.

Officers responded to the hospital at 2:10 a.m. where the victim, who lives in the area of where he was shot, was not cooperating with police, the lieutenant said.

No one is in custody and police did not find any shell casings or a crime scene at the Morse address.

Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
