Walgreens Customer E-mail Addresses Possibly Leaked
CHICAGO (WBBM) - Customers of drugstore chain Walgreens may have had their e-mail addresses leaked, according to company officials.

Officials with the Deerfield-based Walgreens e-mailed customers warning them that the company recently became aware of "unauthorized access to an email customer list". Those same customers receive special offers and newsletters.
As a result, customers could be directed to another website asking for personal data.
A Walgreens spokesperson said customer passwords, account information, and prescription information was not at risk because it's not contained in the email system.
The incident took place last week, and that the matter has been turned over to federal officials.
