DePaul License Plates Get Personal
Illinois license plates with the DePaul University logo now can carry a vanity number.
CHICAGO (AP) - Fans and alums of DePaul University for the first time can get vanity and personalized licenses plates honoring the institution.
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White said Tuesday that DePaul license plates are a good opportunity for drivers to express pride for their school.
The plates help support DePaul University's scholarship fund. Like other vanity plates, they also are a source of revenue for the state.
Random number DePaul University plates have been available since 1997. The cost to purchase a random number DePaul University plate for a currently titled vehicle with a valid Illinois registration is $69. Prices vary for vanity and personalized license plates.
The public can order personalized or vanity license plates online. Personalized plates contain both letters and numbers. Vanity plates contain up to five letters or three numbers only.
