Woman Killed In Tinley Park Crash

An Oak Forest woman died Thursday after the car she was in slammed into a light pole Wednesday in Tinley Park, officials said.

Roseanne Haberkamp, 30, of the 16808 S. Cicero Ave. in Oak Forest, died at 8 p.m. Thursday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

According to police, Haberkamp was with her husband, John Haberkamp, at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in a 1996 Jeep that struck a light pole at the northeast corner of Prosperi Drive and Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park.

Police said the driver lost control while driving northbound in the 18800 block of Oak Park Avenue, sliding sideways into the pole. Roseanne and John Haberkamp were initially taken to Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest.

John Haberkamp was treated and released to police custody, and Roseanne Haberkamp was transferred to Christ Medical Center, police said. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday, the medical examiner's office said.

Police said John Haberkamp was released from custody pending further investigation and the results of a toxicology exam.

Marilee Haberkamp, Roseanne's mother-in-law, said Friday that Roseanne and her husband have two daughters, ages 5 and 10.

"She was a nice person," Marilee Haberkamp said of Roseanne. "She tried to take care of her kids and everything."
