Multiple Shootings, Stabbings Throughout City Overnight

CHICAGO (STMW) - Multiple people were wounded in city-wide stabbings and shootings late last night and early this morning.

Beginning at 10:36 p.m. Saturday, a male was shot in his hand at East 87th Street and South Escanaba Avenue. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, said police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.

About 10:50 p.m., a person was stabbed in the arm during a possible robbery in the 6200 block of North Western Avenue.

About 11:05 p.m., a 27-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the chest, also during a possible robbery. The stabbing happened at West 66th Street and South Kildare Avenue and he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Gaines said.

At 11:30 p.m., a male was shot in the leg in the 5200 block of South Hermitage Avenue. He was taken in good condition to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

At 3:47 a.m. Sunday, a man in his 20s was shot in the knee during a fight outside of a restaurant in the 700 block of West Jackson Blvd. He was taken to Stroger. Shortly after, another male walked into Rush University Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his buttocks. The male claimed to be coming from a shooting on Jackson.

Area detectives are investigating.
